COG Shop is still around but has taken a hiatus. The founders have split up for college and are now located in Brazil, California, and Massachusetts. Although we are all over the place at least one of us will continue on with the development of new products, specifically an accurate non-pyrotechnic flash grenade. With the new tools, materials, and workshops that we have available at MIT much more is possible than when we first began. The tracer magazine did work and we achieved our goal. Although it never reached market we proved that it was possible to make a cheap and reliable alternative to commercially available products. In the coming weeks we may release a tutorial on how to modify your existing magazine to work as a tracer magazine. Tutorials already exists but our design is easy to construct with limited electrical experience and can be done by someone in a workshop with basic tools. This sounds to us like an opportunity for DIY. Stay tuned!
We finally got our product testing page up and running! The page has basic information about how we run our focus groups and has where to contact us if you are interested in participating in one. COG Shop has finally upgraded its domain name from cogshop.wordpress.com to the all new and improved www.cogshopairsoft.com! With the switch to a new domain name we have also updated all email addresses to example@cogshopairsoft.com. Refer to our Contact section for the updates. Throughout the week we will also be updating the site with some new sections and fixing a few bugs. We hope the updates make the site easier to navigate and use. Enjoy the changes!

We have continued the development of our tracer magazine over the past few weeks and have made substantial progress. Nearly all of our testers have completed their reviews of the magazine and have given us their feedback.
Despite the need for minor improvements, the magazines performed well. Reviewers compared the performance and functionality of our magazine to that of other commercial options. We are pleased with the feedback we received and look forward to working with our test group again in the future.
The general consensus from our test group, composed of roughly 10 individuals ranging from experienced players participating in Operation Lion Claws to local airsoft technicians, was that the magazines did what they were supposed to. However, our magazines are subject to the same issues that plague other commercial options, primarily a need to fire 4+ rounds to get proper illumination of the rounds. We have been working on correcting this issue, but have yet to find a reasonable solution.

We are pleased to announce that COG Shop will be fully operational by Monday, April 13, at approximately 12:00 PM. It has taken several weeks of hard work to build COG Shop and we are very happy with how it has grown. We will be releasing our tracer magazines in the near future. The first batch has been designated as a prototype batch and will be sent to several respectable and experienced community members for testing and review. This will help us ensure a quality product that you can rely on. Thank you for your support.
